Growing up in rural Pukekohe, Trent was exposed to a varied landscape; one of suburbs, market gardens, farms and remnant forest.
Initially studying commerce, Trent later shifted his focus to the impacts of commerce on our environment, specifically our food system. After completing his degree, Trent traveled through South America and India, developing a keen interest in agricultural systems that regenerate and sustain communities and ecosystems in the long term.

After completing his degree, Trent traveled through South America and India, developing a keen interest in agricultural systems that regenerate and sustain communities and ecosystems in the long term.
Upon returning, he spent a year working and volunteering on an organic vegetable farm on Great Barrier Island and a biodynamic vegetable farm on the Mornington Peninsula, Australia. A desire to connect with the NZ landscape drew Trent back to Tāmaki Makaurau, where a passion for local biodiversity and our native flora & fauna developed further.
In 2018 Trent completed a Diploma in Landscape Design at UNITEC, followed by three formative years working at the renowned design studio, O2 Landscapes.

During 2022/23, Trent had the opportunity to work with Earthworm, one of
nipaluna, Hobart’s leading makers. Trent gained hands-on experience
using a material palette of metal, stone, and wood while developing an
understanding of lutruwita, Tasmania’s unique ecological context.
